Anabolic Steroid Statistics
Many of the individuals have taken steroids for running, football, swimming, baseball, weight lifting, wrestling, and other sports. When the figures are evaluated, they show that steroid consumption is growing in this age group.
A survey that was carried out from 1999 to 2001 illustrates that steroid consumption amongst teenagers has been increasing and provides statistics that hold up that assumption. In 1999, 2.7 percent of 10th grade students agree having consumed anabolic steroids at least 1 time in their life, while 2.9 percent of 12th grade students also reported steroid consumption. The study was carried out even in 2001 and proved that the incidence of steroid consumption has risen. 10th grade students inform a 3.5 percent frequency rate of steroid consumption, while the intake of steroids by 12th graders rose to 4 percent. The same survey examined the sample of students and inquired that how often their steroid consumption occurred. In the 10th grade group, 1.0 percent had consumed steroids within the month prior the study and 2.2 percent had taken steroids within 1 year prior to the study. The 12th grade students showed greater than before consumption with 1.4 percent consuming in the month preceding the study and 2.5 percent consuming in the year before the survey.
This same survey shows that race, gender, and cultural viewpoints highly influence the choice of whether to use or not to consume the steroids. The survey shows that Caucasian students are more probable to consume steroids than Africans, Hispanics, Americans or those of some other races.
